I don’t know how useful this will be, but having long COVID prompted me to get a blood pressure cuff. Having one allowed me to know when I had to go to the hospital right before my stroke. With one, I was able to be in triage when it happened, and so there is no permanent damage from that. I’m 34 and had a clean diet and ran daily before COVID. The heart problems are new, and I didn’t know what signs to look for. I was lucky I said something on Discord about my vision getting fuzzy and someone saying to check.
If you have long COVID, I would get this. If you have heart problems anyway, you don’t need me to lecture you. But it was also useful in tracking my blood pressure medication after that. After nine months, it is finally back to my old norm - low normal. The fact that this DOES track data inside it that can be accessed would be super helpful for your cardiologist, or if no one gives a fuck if you die so they refuse a referral after the stroke, your primary care doctor. (Not bitter.)
Seriously though. This is a great tool to have around the house. As important as my O2 reader.
@sunshineparadox It also works to get help mobilized at times; a friend woke up feeling strange in the middle of the night, check his BP and called 911 to ask “My BP is 195 over 120 and I feel strange, should I head for the ER?” They said “No, we’ll be there as fast as we can.”
