@mike808 Honestly, having used a bike for fetching groceries, I can say that if you need more than will fit in a backpack, then a bike may not be the answer for transport. At least, given the condition of the streets and sidewalks around here, it’s questionable. Stuff in the basket gets pummeled mercilessly in just a few blocks on the route from the nearest supermarket. Your conditions may differ. Adding a useful-sized basket to one of these also defeats the whole “folding” thing.
@mike808@snapster And as I noted, adding that front basket is going to pretty well defeat the point of the folding capability. Even the front rack alone will make the collapsed unit a lot bulkier and more ungainly. I’ll stick to using the cargo trailer with the big foam pad and the tie-downs if I ever get back to making large grocery runs via pedal power. The electric feature is enticing, though.
OK got a few miles on this and … wow what a value. I am pleasantly surprised on this purchase. I needed one to get around my town and the range is fantastic. I am a bigger person at 225 pounds and I cruise with assist on at about 18mph with ease. I did buy a handle bar mirror so I can see behind me and the racks mentioned above. They did not come with mounting hardware so need to purchase a few bolts.
