$19 for this seems good but with terrible battery life and questionable sound quality, it might be worth the $$$ for the original – the Sony SRS-NB10 – which is on sale for $99 right now on Sony’s website.
I’ve vaguely been interested in getting one of those neck speakers for a while… This has the right price point, but just two hours of playback before it has to be recharged? That’s really disappointing.
I can find ones on “the big river site” that are just a few dollars more that have 5 times (or more) battery life.
Which is super weird, because two of the speakers I’m looking at there say they have 760 mAh worth of batteries that give 10 or 15 hours of music playback. This one has like 60% more battery and 1/5th the battery life? Funky.
@DeftNerd Given the magnitude of the lies on that site concerning run times (and other things) for certain common categories of device, it would not be surprising if the actual runtimes of those speakers were a fraction of what is claimed. Unless, of course, the speakers’ output level is so low as to be just soft background sound, which is also possible. In fact, I would not be surprised if both things turned out to be the case.
