@blaineg@mehvid1 This isn’t a ‘smart lock’ ; it’s literally a keyless/keypad entry. That said, this does have an actual backup key, should the batteries die and you ignored the warnings. Plus, if someone is bringing a hammer to get into my home, they’re probably going to get in regardless of this or any other lock
On a different paw, a lock should offer some resistance to non-destructive entry too; alas, I don’t think Lockpickinglawyer has picked one of these before. It’s the low-skill attacks that should always be a concern, such as on this $329 Level lock:
With security pins, some skill and/or tools will actually be necessary. This is a $32 $40 lock:
Thanks for the input, y’all. FWIW, this pretty well fit the bill of something more designed for convenience than security at a minimal price point. Basically, it’s a stopgap for an almost nonfunctional door lock. Replacement/upgrade for this unit will be forthcoming… and probably not found on Meh….

Has anyone tried this (or maybe something similar)?
@mehvid1 I wouldn’t touch a “smart” lock with someone else’s 10 foot pole.
Top grade electronic/computer security is expensive. This is neither.
Will there be bug fixes? For how long?
This one specifically: “Zinc alloy die casting”. Cheapest of the cheap, no need to get fancy, just whack it with a hammer.

@blaineg @caffeineguy @mehvid1 The weakest link is most often a window.
