The Creme of the Crop
Creme Brûlée is delicious. Seriously, it’s great stuff. If the French know one thing, it is how to make a dessert.
I guess it doesn’t hurt that I already love both vanilla and caramel, so a combination of both was always going to win me over. Sometimes I feel like a weirdo for liking vanilla as much as I do, but it’s great. It’s like society decided at some point that vanilla was the lame option and went all-in on the chocolate bandwagon. I almost feel like chocolate has become the new vanilla in that sense.
Anyway, soft vanilla custard under a shell of crunchy caramel. You have to break through the crust to get to the custard in such a way that you are basically guaranteed to get both the caramel and the custard in every bite. The textural contrast is perfect.
Creme Brûlée. It’s great.
Anyway, here it is as a coffee flavor. And I guess you get five other non-Creme Brûlée flavors too.
