Well, this is neat—smart bulbs have come full circle. After a decade or so of trying to dazzle us with the infinite possibilities of programmable RGB lighting combinations, it turns out that we kind of want something that looks like it was designed in the late 1800s.

Because these smart bulbs give you a cool retro look on the one hand and all the great smart bulb functionality on the other. They don’t make the crazy colors, because this isn’t about making crazy colors. Instead, you get a sophisticated glow with highly configurable dimming, all controlled through the smartphone app. (They also work with Alexa and Hey Google.)
You can set these up to be grouped by room or control them individually, meaning that all it takes is a few words or a tap to brighten things up or dim them down as you see fit. It’s all pretty great and unlike the usual rainbow bulbs, they’re much more suited to the subtlety of a dinner party than the random flashiness of a dorm room.
