Eyes inside
here are now kind of a lot of solutions for outdoor security cameras. You can get a doorbell cam or a birdbath cam or just battery-powered cameras that you can stick wherever. For like $200 you can have security that wouldn’t have been out of place at the end of Scarface.
But what about inside?
Inside is a little trickier, because even though most of us have generally filled our homes with smart devices that spy on us all the time, we don’t actually get to use any of that sweet surveillance for ourselves. It’s not like you can ask Alexa to check on the cat while you’re at work. Alexa knows how the cat is doing…she just doesn’t tell you.
So get one of these.
For just forty bucks, you can have eyes and ears wherever you need eyes and ears, whether that’s making sure that all is quiet at home while you’re on vacation or checking on the weird noise downstairs without having to get out of bed. Plus if anything wacky happens to you there’s a decent chance it’ll be captured on video, which is the stuff that viral videos are made of.
Anyway, it’s got night mode and motion detection and cloud storage and…just pretty much all the things we’ve come to expect from this sort of thing. You get the idea. The hardware is quite nice and it even looks sleek enough to more or less blend into typical decor without seeming too much like a security camera. You could definitely mistake it for an air purifier or a Wi-Fi router.
Oh and speaking of Alexa, it works with Alexa. Also Hey Google. And then there’s an app that’ll work with Android or Apple devices. Just grab one. Your indoor security demands it.
