It’s time for real waffles.
When it comes to food, we make a lot of tradeoffs for convenience. Which is fine. People are busy and doing stuff is hard.
But sometimes we end up getting into the habit of a convenience food even when doing it properly is actually totally attainable.
A PopTart? A PopTart is not like that. You aren’t going to make a fruit-filled pastry with frosting on top from scratch. You’re just not. The most gourmet approach is to toast it for a minute rather than eating it right out of the package. Case closed.
But waffles? Waffles are actually pretty easy to make properly, if only you have a waffle maker. And the difference between the frozen kind that go in the toaster and the kind you make from batter is HUGE.
Imagine you’re making breakfast for someone you don’t know that well. Start digging in the freezer for the Eggo box and you look ridiculous. Start pouring batter into your stainless steel waffle maker and you’ll blow them away. It’s not just fancy, it’s brunch-level fancy. Make a mimosa while you’re at it.
Get the point? Nobody needs daily waffles, but for an occasional treat (Waffle Wednesday, anyone?), today’s deal will get it done.
