Retro form and function?
It’s funny how things come full circle.
Back in the day, big chunky over-the-ear headphones were a must-have for anybody who wanted to maximize their music enjoyment while admiring their lava lamp from a beanbag chair.
But when a few technologically consequential decades took personal audio from something that requires racks of stereo equipment to being just one more thing our phones can do, headphones similarly shrunk in size, eventually becoming the tiny little buds that you very well might have jammed in your ear holes right now.
Except a lot of us are realizing that even if those portable ear TicTacs are swell for keeping with you as you run about town or do a workout, sometimes what you really want is some nice, squishy, over-the-ear comfort.
These are absolutely that, giving you 50 hours of wireless listening on a charge while resting soothingly on top of your head. Honestly, you might be blown away at just how nice of a break it can be to listen to your headphones without having something forcefully jammed into your ears. (After all, there’s a reason that Apple decided they could get away with asking like $500 for their version of these.)
So yeah. Keep your tiny earbuds if that’s what you’ve been using, but it’s probably time you got back to something like this, at least some of the time. And if you’re an over-the-ear purist who has never tried anything else, you’ll probably like these just fine.
Twenty bucks!
