Before you need them…
Remember road flares? You know, the dusty old fire sticks that you thought were dynamite when you were cleaning out the trunk of a dead grandparent’s car? (Sorry, it’s 2023. This is the most likely memory anyone has of old-school road flares, unless they happen to be a trucker or something.)
Anyway, those things were kind of dangerous and generally inconvenient. Today’s deal…not so much. Instead of being a glorified toilet paper roll full of flammable something-or-other, these are basically harmless LED hockey pucks that can ride around with you until you need them. When it comes time to deploy, you just turn them on and plop them on the ground or hang them from the little hooks, or whatever you need to do. They’re even magnetic if that is at some point helpful.
Plus not only do they improve visibility to help keep someone from crashing into you while you’re changing a tire on the side of the road, but they can even act as little spotlight lanterns to help you see what you’re doing down there.
They’re pretty great. It’s not a super exciting purchase or anything, but it’s definitely one of those “you’ll be glad you have them at some point” kind of things. So buy some. And be glad you have them. (At some point.)
