This season’s hottest gifts (are overrated and hard to get)
Your kids probably aren’t asking for this for Christmas. It’s not one of those things that’s going to be plastered all over the TV for the 4+ months that we now apparently just accept as “the holiday season” now.
But it turns out that some of the best gifts are the ones they don’t necessarily expect.
We’re living in a world where one of the top outdoor activities for an entire generation was hunting digital Pokemon and where every single thing seems to demand batteries, a WiFi connection, and an account with a unique password consisting of at least one upper case letter and a special character.
But you can set your kids free from a lot of that, at least temporarily. This frankly gigantic set of magnetic blocks is pure creative play. Dump them in a pile and little hands will start snapping them together and making connections. Within a few minutes, they’ll be coming up with all kinds of shapes and structures with a building set that holds their attention like you wouldn’t believe.
Is it that latest video game system?
It is not.
Is it at the top of any Santa lists?
No. Santa demands kickbacks and this particular manufacturer doesn’t bend to the will of a novelty holiday elf, however beloved he may be.
But you know what?
It’s fun. It’s creative. It’s good for their brains. And you won’t have to choose between fighting scalper bots on Amazon or fighting old ladies at a department store to get your hands on one.
Because we’ll just, like…send you one.
While supplies last of course.
