Doesn’t hurt to carry one
We’re not sure when soft-sided cooler technology became broadly accessible, but boy did a lot of us grow up surrounded by some truly awful hard wall coolers back in the day—squeaky styrofoam, yellowing plastic, clunky heft that bangs into your leg while you walk with something that’s actually shockingly heavy once you fill it with drinks and ice.
So maybe there wasn’t a better alternative then, but there’s definitely a better alternative now.

Oh and it freaking floats. That’s a pretty cool party trick (literally). We’re not sure that you’re actually going to use it like that, but it’s nice to have options, is all we’re saying.
