I had a vintage type scale where you had to turn the dial to Zero before hopping on and then try to figure out your exact weight by counting the bars between numbers, it was not as accurate as this Health-o-Meter. I received the new scale (batteries were included) and was easily able to set it up, per instructions, within minutes. Once I stepped on, my exact weight was on the screen in seconds. At first I felt insecure getting on a glass scale, verses my old metal scale, but quickly realized it was ok as the glass is sturdy.
