Fancy a cup of coffee?
Keurigs are one of those things that define a technological era.
Suddenly we could make a cup of coffee from beginning to end in like 30 seconds. It was the caffeination equivalent of landing on the moon. It was as groundbreaking as a microwave, but for coffee.
It was really cool, is what we’re saying.
There was a downside, though. The first ones were huge. Between the water tank and the coffee maker part and the drip tray, you were pretty much sacrificing a couple of feet of prime countertop real estate to your consumer-grade fast coffee machine.
Well, check this one out. It’s like Keurig Express. It’s like a Keurig Coupe. It’s like a Keurig Mini.
Come to think of it, all of those would have been better names for this than what they ended up going with. (Hey Keurig, Inc…hit us up if you need any more help; we’re pretty good at this and will work for coffee pods.)
Anyway, this thing is barely eight inches wide and looks as cool and sleek as we all wished they did from the beginning. Seriously, the first one was made in 1992. It had the charming name of “B2000” and was the size of a Buick and cost $30,000. Some of that might be a little bit off…we read the Wikipedia page pretty quickly while surrounded by so many empty K-Cups that they had to be cleared away with a snow shovel.
Clunky origins aside, until they can figure out a cup that somehow fills itself with coffee using nano-tech coffee extract combined with moisture from the air, this is really the final form of what a coffee maker should be.
It’s almost like…delicious magic?
