Meaty snacks on the go
We don’t have any data to back this up, but there are certain snack foods that you just know are almost exclusively sold one at a time at gas stations. Like even if you go through a dozen of those little bottled energy drinks by the cash register a week, it’s not as if you’re going to stock up on the stuff and have a case sitting on your kitchen counter.
For one, you’d look depraved. For another, nobody wants to admit that they’re going to drink 24 more tiny energy drinks in their lives. Every one is the last one, even if deep down you know you’ll be back tomorrow.
So on that note: meat sticks.
Grabbing these on a road trip is an absolute pro move, slightly more expensive than the average junk food, but legitimately low in sugar, packed with protein, and capable of making you feel downright good while your buddy languishes with a belly full of pre-packaged cupcakes. In fact, they’re so good that you could line up a couple of boxes in your pantry and use them for responsible snacking at home or on the go.
They’re tasty. They’re convenient. They aren’t a two-pack of gas station cupcakes.
They’re also quite spicy. So if you’re into the hot stuff, it’s time to stock up. Seriously, just try to find something similar for less than a buck a piece.
