Really there are two layers of effects going on. There’s the trippy nebula-looking element and then there’s the starlight laser bit. Both can be configured to dial in exactly the vibe you’re going for.

Why do we have a bunch of refurbished ones? No idea, honestly. Maybe some people thought they were buying actual stargates and were disappointed when they just got a blissful light show with a dope smartphone app.
