The best of both worlds.
As a species, we humans tend to overdo things. We start with a great idea, then immediately run it into the ground, taking it way further than ever made any earthy sense.
Oh we invented these new smartphones that can do all sorts of things that the previous generation of phones couldn’t? Well by all means lets all become clinically obsessed to the point that we can no longer eat, drive, or crap without having at least one eye on the thing.
What about a reality show where a panel of judges evaluates some contestants and then send one home each episode? Yeah that’s great—let’s make 800 of those and keep recycling that premise for at least 30 years. Ryan Seacrest doesn’t really age anyway.
See also: plastic. That dude in The Graduate was spot on when he said the future was in plastics, because for the next several decades we cranked out so much of that stuff that sea turtles started shouting death threats at us. (Correction: after some research, those aren’t actually death threats. It’s just the sound a sea turtle makes when choking on a bendy straw.)
Fortunately, we’ve started scaling back a little bit. But plastic still has a time and a place…
That place is on top of these awesomely versatile (glass!) containers. They are glass where you want them to be glass and plastic where you want them to be plastic. Plus every time you break out one of these reusable containers—complete with reusable lid—you’re probably sparing a disposable something-or-other from landing in the trash heap.
It’s the best of both worlds, really.
