A mindless pastime that doesn’t keep score
You know what would be nice?
Taking a little break from a world where it seems like every little thing you do is keeping score.
There are step counters and heart rate monitors and screen time analyzers and calorie loggers and exercise trackers. Even if you decide to relax with a mindless phone game you end up on a leaderboard with thousands of people who apparently play the candy matching explosion game semi-professionally. (And how about a quick push notification to make sure you hit your daily play streak in pursuit of a corporate sponsored loot crate full of…something we don’t quite understand.)
Or you could color a little.
You could sit down and mindlessly color a mildly psychedelic design full of little loops and patterns that you can make pretty. Oh and you can do it with the included box of colored pencils, just in case you aren’t the type to have a bunch of coloring supplies stashed away at the house.
Today’s deal is a 2-pack of grown-up-friendly coloring books, each with their own pencils.
So while the coloring supplies are included, the gamification features are not. It won’t measure your progress. It won’t grade your ability to stay within the lines. It won’t even prompt you to upload your masterpiece to Facebook to an underwhelming reception from your friends and family.
Welcome to unplugged relaxation, because sometimes you deserve to be left alone for a bit.
By the way, these are a great gift. It’s the kind of thing you don’t love until you try, which is the best sort of gift to buy for someone.
Unplug and get coloring!
