Time for a change
Does anybody remember cell phones in the 1990s and early 2000s?
THERE WERE SO MANY KINDS.
Today we’ve gotten so used to listening to people argue about whether the glass rectangle with a small notch at the top is significantly superior to the glass rectangle with the slightly larger notch at the top that it’s easy to forget how phones used to come in a wild variety of shapes and sizes.
They slid and flipped and folded and rotated. They had crazy buttons and game controllers and cameras that popped up like a jack-in-the-box. It’s honestly kind of disappointing that none of that exists anymore.
Well just like sleek electronic simplicity killed the distinct-looking smartphone, sleek electronic simplicity damn near killed the wristwatch. You can look at people sitting in your office conference room or whatever, and it’s just little square rectangle after little square rectangle all the way around, and that’s if people are wearing a watch at all.
Lame.
Grab yourself an actual watch and have a little distinction about you. It’s probably not worth the price of a $12,000 Rolex or something, but there’s nothing wrong with a nice little statement piece for twenty-five bucks.
