Cordless, painless.
In case you’re at all uneasy about the whole “battery powered yard equipment thing,” we’ll just say this. Even if only one yard tool on the planet made sense to be electric, it’d be a string trimmer like this.
Hedge clippers? A little unwieldy as you’re trying to maneuver that thing around with a heavy battery on one end. Or you use a corded model, with the cord you’re definitely going to cut in half at some point. Perhaps a mower? Maybe it’ll be up to the task of your yard, but also maybe not. Kind of a crapshoot.
When it comes to string trimmers, though, there’s just no reason for you to be dealing with power cords and even less of a reason to be yanking on one of those terrible pull cords trying to start a tiny gas motor that you don’t really need.
With this one, you’re just going to push a button and—boom—you’re trimming. It isn’t crazy loud, but it’s still plenty powerful. Plus trimming is a bit of a precision activity, so it isn’t like you want to obliterate everything in your path the way you run over the kids’ toys with that mower of yours.
As is so often the case, the only real downside is the retail price. And, well…we’ve trimmed it.
So enjoy, green thumb or not.
