You arrive at the summit after only another hour of hiking. You’ve spent all that time trying to figure out what you’ll say to the old man. You imagine he’ll be a standoffish curmudgeon who speaks only in jaded riddles.
But no.
As soon as you reach the peak, you find him sitting on a bench outside of a modest yurt. To his left, two cups of tea sit.
“Hello!” he calls. “I’ve been foretold of your arrival by my eyes in the sky, so to speak. Now please, you must be exhausted. Would you like some rejuvenating tea?”
He holds one of the cups out to you.
