You decide to forge on. After all, nothing’s going to stop you, except maybe exhaustion.
Actually, no, that’s it: it’s definitely exhaustion that’s going to stop you.
After another twenty minutes, you’re so tired you barely have the energy to lay out your sleeping bag. You definitely don’t bother with the ludicrous “enormous insect repellent” the salesman pawned off on you.
And so, when you awake the next morning, you see not the sky but your own reflection… in the enormous eyes of a giant wasp. It’s as big as you. And it’s face is inches from yours. You jolt, trying to scramble out of your sleeping bag, but then feel a shooting pain as its stinger pierces your stomach.
Slowly the world fades…
