You thank him and accept the tea. He holds his own mug, but seems to be waiting for you to drink before he’ll put the cup to his lips. You take a sip, and tell him: “Delicious,” even though it doesn’t taste like much. And in fact, you’re pretty warm from hiking and would prefer a cold glass of water. Still, he seems to expect you to finish and you want to show your gratitude so you do.
Suddenly your eyelids feel extremely heavy.
The old man stands, placing his tea down, having not even sipped it. “Is everything to your liking? You seem perhaps a little… drowsy?”
And as soon as he speaks the word you feel your knees give way. Your head thunks against something hard. You think it is the ground but when you blink you see the surface of your desk, back in your cubicle at work.
So it was all a dream!
